Potensi Pravastatin sebagai Tata Laksana Preventif Preeklamsia di Indonesia

Abstrak
Pendahuluan:Di Indonesia, preeklamsia menjadi salah satu penyebab utama kematian ibu. Preeklamsia merupakan komplikasi dari hipertensi gestasional dengan peningkatan tekanan darah lebih dari 140/90 mmHg yang terjadi pada kehamilan di atas 20 minggu disertai dengan proteinuria atau komplikasi organ lain. Sejauh ini, panduan pencegahan preeklamsia adalah penggunaan aspirin dan suplemen kalsium. Namun, aspirin hanya efektif sebagai pencegahan sekunder bila digunakan sebelum usia gestasi 16 minggu dan dalam dosis tinggi dapat menimbulkan efek samping. Beberapa penelitian terbaru menunjukkan adanya potensi pravastatin sebagai tata laksana preventif pre-eklamsia yang relatif aman.
Metode:Proses pencarian data dilakukan menggunakan mesin pencari terpercaya, seperti Science Direct dan PubMed.
Pembahasan:Pravastatin memiliki potensi menurunkan risiko preeklamsia melalui berbagai mekanisme, seperti regulasi persinyalan NO, perbaikan keseimbangan angiogenik, inhibisi persinyalan rapamycin, dan aktivasi jalur mitogen-activated protein kinase. Pravastatin merupakan salah satu obat yang aman dan memiliki efektifitas yang cukup tinggi dalam menurunkan risiko preeklamsia berdasarkan berbagai studi pilot dan percobaan in vivo.
Simpulan:Penelitian klinis terkait efikasi dan keamanan pravastatin khususnya di Indonesia perlu terus diupayakan agar pravastatin dapat menjadi strategi tata laksana preeklamsia di masa depan.
