Background: Hydration status is a crucial factor in supporting physiological and cognitive function, particularly in medical students with high academic and physical activity levels. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity and hydration status in male and female students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung. Method: The study used a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach, involving active university students as respondents. Physical activity was measured using the short version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while hydration status was measured using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: The results of the study showed that the p-value for female students was 0.378, while for male students was 0.465. Discussion: This finding indicates that physical activity level is not a dominant factor influencing hydration status and is likely influenced by individual fluid intake patterns and hydration habits. Conclusion: There was no significant association between physical activity and hydration status in medical students. This study emphasizes the importance of education about proactive hydration habits, not only for individuals with high levels of physical activity, but also for the general medical student population.
